A warm welcome to the new member of AGePOP consortium!

We are very pleased to finally welcome ESR 8, Fritz Harder.

Fritz Harder joined the AGePOP ITN in January 2022, based at KU Leuven in Belgium. His research project focuses on drug formulation behaviour in older people and geriatric patients and on the physiological characteristics of their gastrointestinal tract. More specifically, the effects on dissolution related processes will be evaluated by sampling and characterising gastrointestinal fluids. Effects on drug permeation will be assessed by collecting intestinal tissue samples and by determining the protein abundance of transporters and metabolising enzymes relevant for drug disposition. During a secondment at Merck, Germany, Fritz Harder will focus on incorporating the observations made during the project into PBB/PBPK models.
