The computer’s lab
A setup of computational simulations being made for prediction of pharmacology in older adults.
The computer is a perfect machine to predict the behaviour of certain drugs in older adults. By taking various physiological aspects of a human body into account by implementing them in differential equations, a prediction of the concentration in of the drug can be made. In this figure you see the computer’s setup, with multiple software opened (Excel, Rstudio and PK-Sim) to get the right results. This is a different setup then most of the known labs in the pharmaceutical industry, but no less important.
About the artist
Cleo Demeester aims to develop an open-source physiologically based biopharmaceutics/ physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model to support dose selection and improve pharmacotherapy for geriatric patients and older people. Her computer is her lab, which she represents with the above photograph.
